Cord Blood Banking begins by collecting the umbilical cord of a newborn in order to obtain the precious stem cells that are located inside. This can be done by having the kit shipped to you in the mail from the Cord Blood Registry. You will need to inform your OB/GYN and the doctor that will be facilitating the delivery. The cord will be obtained and a courier will pick-up the cord anytime 24/7.
Sign up to Cordblood.com the official registry for storing either your baby’s cord blood and it’s tissue that contains stem cells that help treat over eighty (80) different types of diseases.
Signup occurs while the mother of the infant is pregnant and the registry will send a kit in the mail that will allow the hospital to store the umbilical cord (and it’s tissue) in a kit. There is a toll-free number that the parents are to use to request a courier to pickup the cord. Pickup is 24/7 and once the transfer is complete the cord will be held in the banking account until its termination.
The pricing structure is setup in 2 plans:
To sign-up there will be a payment of $495 to be paid immediately and depending on which plan you chose a specialist will call you to pay the remainder of the balance. If you decide to cancel there will be a fee of $125 assessed to your credit card.
